March 2010: Hospital radio station Radio Frimley Park has been nominated for a prize at this year’s National Hospital Radio Awards. Organised by the Hospital Broadcasting Association (HBA), the awards recognise the best in hospital radio and give stations a chance to promote the talents of volunteer presenters.

Radio Frimley Park, which broadcasts to the patients of Frimley Park Hospital, entered the awards for the first time this year, submitting an entry to the Best Speech Package category. RFP Spokesperson, Chris Bentley, said: “We’re really pleased our speech package, which highlighted the 50th anniversary of the Grove School in Frimley, has been shortlisted. Let’s just hope we’re successful on the night.” The results will be announced tomorrow night (Saturday 27 March) at the awards ceremony in Scotland as part of the HBA’s Annual General Meeting.

March 2010: The station’s OB season (the provision of Public Address facilities for a fee to organisations who would like to hire us) starts very soon.  For more information about our OB activities, click the OBs tab above.

December 2009: Radio Frimley Park’s output is fed into newly installed speakers in the Cafe Glade in the front entrance area of the hospital.  This is the first phase of making the station’s output more widely available in other parts of the hospital as well as continuing to broadcast to the patients.
